Ice Consulting International/Hans has been hired to consult,
oversee, or run the ice making portion for major events in
North America and Europe for the last 15 years. The audience
capacity for these events ranged from 2,000-19,000 people.
Hans has also had numerous other ice making assignments in
smaller venues.
Hans’ consulting background was greatly enhanced during
his tenure as President of the Manitoba Recreation Facilities
Association; he then went on to be the President of the Canadian
Recreation Facilities Association. These positions provided
him the opportunity to travel across Canada to some of the
newest and most advanced recreation facilities, arenas, curling
clubs, pools and multi-complex centres. Hans has been a facilities
consultant for the Manitoba Curling Association for the past
several years, visiting 30-40 clubs every year.
ICI/Hans has consulted for several communities and recreation
boards that were in the process of building curling clubs,
arenas, and other large recreation facilities. He has also
done extensive consulting with refrigeration companies to
ensure that cooling systems are set up for proper operations
based on usage or potential usage of the facility.
Hans has written reports to assist law firms settling disputes
where ice conditions were questionable and recreation users
were suing provincial facilities.
Hans holds a valid Class 5 refrigeration Certificate, is
a Certified National and International Ice Technician and
is a Certified National Ice Technician Instructor. These Credentials
coupled with his consulting experience and ability to speak
English, German, and French has given Hans the opportunity
to work in many countries in Europe as well as in North America.
